Sergeant James N. Brink, 26, served with the Kansas City Police Department for 3 months and was promoted to Acting Sergeant the day before his death.
On September 1, 1921, Acting Sergeant Brink Brink was killed when his police motorcycle collided with a truck at 40th and Flora. Sgt. Brink was traveling eastbound on 40th Street when the 5 ton loaded dirt truck ran over Sgt. Brink after he was thrown from his bike attempting to avoid the collision and died of a skull fracture at the scene.
His father, James N. Brink had already passed in 1901 but Sergeant Brink was survived by his mother, Mahala.

My name is Donald Brink and I am the nephew of James N. Brink killed in the KC police force. He had no children but his brother had a son later that was named James Nathan Brink. I think he is still alive.
