Russell D. Mestdagh

Russell Mestdagh was a Police Officer in Kansas City, Missouri. He served three years for the Police Force, dying in the line of duty at age 26.
Officer Mestdagh was shot in the chest and killed during a robbery at Traxler Pharmacy, 651 E. 59th when he encountered three men who just robbed the store. Officer Mestdagh was shot four times, possibly with his own revolver, in the rear of the pharmacy and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. The suspect was apprehended, served his sentence, and has since been released.
Officer Mestdagh previously served in the US Army in Vietnam and was survived by his son.
